Methane Monitoring

Better Detection

Fighting a Potent Climate Pollutant

Reducing methane emissions is a critical element to limiting near-term warming and securing a sustainable future.

Methane (CH4) is a potent greenhouse gas that plays an outsized role in near term climate change. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) said in its latest report that limiting warming to a degree that secures a livable future will require reducing methane emissions by about a third by 2030. The good news is that methane emissions from oil and gas systems, which represent about 31% of all methane emissions, are both measurable and easily mitigated when detected.

Machfu’s methane monitoring solution provides continuous monitoring and delivers actionable information about methane leaks of all sizes. Until now, monitoring large or small methane leaks has been expensive, periodic, or only feasible for larger facilities. This advance comes at a critical time when public policy is driving the need for new solutions.
